El Palmeral is one of the most pleasant parks in Alicante: over 7,000 palm trees, lakes, wooden walkways, and picnic areas, very close to the sea. It is a perfect plan to disconnect for a few hours, especially if you are traveling with family. We will tell you what to see, how to get there, and what to do with your luggage if it is your last day in the city.

What to see in El Palmeral
- The palm trees: more than 7,000 specimens, including date palms that can reach about 20 meters in height.
- Lakes and wooden walkways: a quiet route among the water and vegetation.
- Children's areas: swings, trampolines, and musical and interactive games, as well as a pump track for bikes, skates, and scooters.
- Picnic areas: with pergolas and tables, ideal for dining outdoors.
How to get there
The park is at 109 Elche Avenue, southwest of the center and near the coast. You can get there by city bus: lines 01, 27, and C6 have a stop in the area.
Don't confuse it with the Elche Palmeral
The famous Elche Palmeral, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is in the neighboring city of Elche. The Alicante Palmeral is a different, smaller urban park that is very convenient for a short visit.
And what about your suitcases?
El Palmeral is outside the center, so the most convenient thing is to leave your luggage at a BagsKeeper point in the center before taking the bus and pick it up on your way back. Lyere is open every day, EstampArte is next to the train station from Monday to Friday, and OCLT is open in the afternoon until early morning.
