El Palmeral is one of Alicante's most pleasant parks: more than 7,000 palm trees, lakes, wooden walkways, and picnic areas, very close to the sea. It is a perfect plan to unwind for a few hours, especially if you are traveling with family. We tell you what to see, how to get there, and what to do with your luggage if it is your last day in the city.

What to see in El Palmeral
- The palm trees: more than 7,000 specimens, including date palm trees that can reach about 20 meters in height.
- Lakes and wooden walkways: a peaceful walk between the water and the vegetation.
- Children's areas: swings, trampolines, and musical and interactive games, as well as a pump track for bikes, skates, and scooters.
- Picnic areas: with pergolas and tables, ideal for eating outdoors.
How to get there
The park is located at Avenida de Elche, 109, southwest of the center and near the coast. You can get there by city bus: lines 01, 27, and C6 have stops in the area.
Don't confuse it with the Palmeral of Elche
The famous Palmeral of Elche, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is in the neighboring city of Elche. The Palmeral of Alicante is a different urban park, smaller and very convenient for a short visit.
And what about your suitcases?
El Palmeral is outside the center, so the most convenient thing is to leave your luggage at a BagsKeeper point in the center before taking the bus and picking it up on your way back. Lyere is open every day except Tuesdays, EstampArte is next to the train station from Monday to Friday, and OCLT opens in the afternoon and until the early morning.
